An almost empty parliament. More than half of parliamentarians no longer come to Rabat. Both chambers are virtually empty with more than a month left before the end of the legislature.
Parliamentarians are preparing their electoral campaign and no longer deign to set foot in the seat of the legislative institution, and this, according to our sources, with the blessing of Habib El Malki, President of the House of Representatives and Hakim Benchamach, President of the House counselors.
The latter had given them their agreement, tacitly, while turning a blind eye to these scandalous acts, by refusing to activate the sanctions provided for by the internal regulations concerning absenteeism. The salary remains insured without compensation for work. Scandal!
This scandal – for it is one – actually says a lot about the irresponsibility of which some parliamentarians are capable, who are subsequently surprised that their population goes on strike of the vote at the time of the elections.
