According to the information provided by the “Tasnim” agency, the explosion was caused by the detonation of a fuel storage tank. It was reported that the blast wave destroyed an office building and damaged vehicles in the port. In an interview with “ILNA,” Mohammad Jamilian, a member of the Health and Medical Services Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, stated that the death toll had reached 40, with 750 others injured.
While the incident is officially presented as the result of an accident involving a fuel tank explosion, there are plausible reasons to consider that underlying factors might be at play. This incident appears to resemble more of a sabotage operation rather than a mere accident. If sabotage is involved, Israel could be behind the attack.
